Diversity and Inclusion

Following our move into Stourbridge, we are committed to being actively involved in the community. We asked all staff to nominate a local charity for us to support. Following a vote, Mary Stevens Hospice was nominated as our chosen charity. They shared very similar values to us;- ‘care, compassion and kindness’. They have been providing end of life care to people with life limiting illnesses and are renowned in Stourbridge as a very well run and active charity.

We have met with leading personnel at the Hospice and undertaken a tour of the facilities to see the incredible work performed. We have begun a process of engagement by firstly understanding the values and goals of the organisation.

As our approach is led by active involvement of our team, our focus will be on volunteering. We attended our first volunteering event on 31st August to help the Hospice make important preparations for their Summer Fayre. We were delighted that ALL available employees participated by volunteering their time to help with the preparations. The enthusiasm of the workforce was such that employees even brought along their children (see pictures) as volunteers for the day.

We deployed 2 Gravity Risk Services Ltd teams, ensuring the office could be manned. In the morning, the team walked the local streets of Stourbridge distributing letters to inform residents of the event and promote the Fayre. We distributed over 300 letters. In the afternoon, the Gravity Risk Services Ltd team were hands-on in helping to erect gazebos, tables, chairs and other furniture. All the team thoroughly enjoyed the volunteering and the Hospice expressed their huge gratitude for our support.

The volunteering has already spread a greater sense of commitment among the team, with some employees since donating household items to the Mary Stevens Hospice shops. We are determined to help this remarkable organisation continue to provide their range of services and contribute in any way we can via the generosity, kindness and dedication of our team and our customers.

We will continue our support to Mary Stevens Hospice with additional events to attend, sponsorship opportunities and further volunteering. We have entered a team for the Neon Night Run. In addition, an employee in performing a sky dive via Skyline and raising money for the Hospice. We are also actively supporting the Hospice Lottery scheme to raise funds.

We also plan to launch a donation payment scheme with all client renewals, whereby Policy Holders can donate to MSH when paying their renewal premium.
