It’s hard to believe that the end of the year is fast approaching again. We wanted to take the time to reflect on what has made this year so memorable for our business and celebrate all the achievements of our staff!

Celebrated our 9th company anniversary
We have come a long way since our small beginnings in 2013, and we are so incredibly proud of how much we have grown in a decade. This year, we celebrated Gravity Risk Services’ 9th anniversary as a company. As we enter our 10th year, we look forward with ambitious eyes to the future… Watch this space!

A belated Christmas party… in March! After it was cancelled twice due to Covid!
2022 didn’t get off to the best of starts with the country in a nationwide lockdown yet again. Our employees were working from home as advised, but the promise of one thing was on everyone’s minds – something guaranteed to raise spirits!

Our office Christmas Party got rescheduled to March, and our employees were finally able to let their hair down and enjoy a night of fun, cheesy music and drinks at the Lyttelton Arms in Hagley. After 2 years of pandemic and cancelled parties, it was just what everyone needed – even Dale’s dancing lived up to expectations!

It was an amazing night and we can’t wait for the next Christmas party!

Employee study success
At Gravity Risk Services, we always champion professional development, whether through study, additional training, personal coaching or professional courses. A number of our staff undertake extra study alongside their job roles and have achieved amazing results throughout the year.

SME Account Executive Luke passed his final Cert CII exam in June and is now fully qualified as an insurance advisor. Since joining Gravity Risk Services in 2019, Luke has also been completing his Apprenticeship qualification alongside this, which we are pleased to say that he passed in November this year! We are incredibly proud of his dedication to achieve this whilst at the same time performing to high standard in his sales role.

Alice has now achieved her Level 3 AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting and continues to work towards her Level 4 qualification, upgrading her job title to ‘Finance Officer’ as a result. Alice also joined in 2019 as an apprentice and has continued to go from strength to strength, now handling most finance elements of the business to an extremely high standard. We are proud of everything she has achieved in her role so far.

Marketing Assistant Amy started her CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing back in July, and successfully passed her first exam with a Distinction grade in October. Amy started her role through the government’s Kickstart Scheme back in 2021 and hopes to continue her studies in Marketing and perhaps work towards a diploma level in the future. We are proud of Amy taking to initiative to study for her course alongside her role.

We also welcomed Mia on a work experience placement for a month during the summer, where she has now gone on to an Apprenticeship role in the Law field – what an amazing accomplishment! You can read about Mia’s work experience here in her blog.

well done

Charity fundraising triumphs
Gravity raised funds for our Easter Bake Sale back in April and collected over 20 Easter Eggs for the Easter Egg Appeal, both for our 2022 chosen charity The Mary Stevens Hospice.

We also hope to raise some more donations for the Mary Stevens Hospice for our office Christmas Jumper day in December, where we will also be hosting an office buffet! We are also proud of our charity efforts in other areas, including collections for our local Black Country Food Bank during the current cost-of-living crisis.

Launched our innovative deal to give clients a Free Cyber Health Check
Our partnership with local Stourbridge business Superfast IT is an innovative partnership in every sense of the word and will have a massive impact on both of our client bases. As the number of cyberattacks continues to rise across the country, so do the number of businesses seeking insurance protection to keep their business going in the event of an attack.

But working with Superfast IT has shown us that insurance alone isn’t enough. Companies need to have secure IT systems in place to protect themselves or they make themselves vulnerable to doubts over whether or not they took reasonable steps to safeguard themselves in the first place.

Through this partnership our customers have the best protection throughout which helps to minimise the risk of insurance providers not paying out. Superfast IT provide a health check of the business IT structure. It includes data check-ups, virus protection, firewall protection to identify security gaps that could result in a void cyber insurance policy.

Excellent customer feedback
Our levels of customer satisfaction have remained high year on year and we are extremely proud of this year’s results and comments from our valued clients. After conducting our annual survey of clients in November, 100% of our clients agreed that their contacts have been ‘responsive, professional, helpful and knowledgeable’.

100% felt confident that they have ‘received recommendations that meet their needs’, and 57% of clients said that we exceeded expectations.

We wouldn’t be able to receive such glowing feedback from our clients without the amazing efforts from our staff to deliver an outstanding service with great care, sensitivity and empathy – especially in the current hard market conditions.

Our strong retention levels are a reflection of our excellent client relationships and the tremendous work that has been done throughout the year in servicing our clients.

The future
The future for Gravity Risk Services is looking bright, and we are pleased to report continued year on year organic growth servicing a book of over 1000+ clients across all our branches.

The team has supported our clients through the current period of economic uncertainty and also attracted a number of new clients because of our reputation of keeping our promises. We have exceeded our set targets even before the end of the year, meaning that we have been able to give back to all of our employees.

With our 10th company anniversary just around the corner in February, you can expect the celebrations to begin brewing in the coming weeks. Keep a look out for updates on our social media channels!
